A strong supplement throughout the milk-feeding period
The foundation for high milk production starts already at the calf’s birth. Feeding and care are necessary to make full use of the calf’s potential.
Many factors influence the cow’s milk production. Studies show that the heifer that remains healthy throughout her growth period and calves at a young age has the best longevity and is the most profitable.
The same applies to bull calf production. Good health and high growth during the first period of the beef calf’s life result in the most profitable beef calf.
The first building blocks of a solid foundation are laid already at the calf’s birth through the provision of colostrum during the milk-feeding period. During this period, the calf’s digestive system develops from having a non-functional rumen to having a functional rumen. The development of the rumen depends on the presence of calf starter feed. Early introduction to solid feed accelerates the process, helping to challenge and develop the digestive system.
It is common to experience calves with digestive disturbances during this period - and later, possibly also respiratory infections, even when the calves are cared for and managed correctly. Digestive disturbances can be caused by both viruses and bacteria, but what they have in common is that damage to the intestinal villi can impair nutrient absorption, thereby reducing the absorption of nutrients and inhibiting the calf’s growth.

AAC Solid Calf is a good option for a supplementary feed for your calves.
AAC Solid Calf is mixed into the milk and provided throughout the milk-feeding period to support and promote the calf’s development of rumen papillae and to ensure a healthy and well-functioning digestive system.
Butyric acid is one of the important ingredients in AAC Solid Calf. Butyric acid is a well-documented source of energy for the cells of the intestine and one of the primary stimulators of rumen papillae development in calves.
Research shows that providing butyric acid to newborn calves in both milk and starter feed has a particularly positive effect on the calf’s immune system, production results and rumen development (see the figures below).
